440C stainless steel plate is a martensitic stainless steel with excellent rust resistance and high temperature dimensional stability. It is suitable for manufacturing bearing parts working in corrosive environments and non-lubricated strong oxidizing atmospheres, as well as corrosion-resistant high temperature bearing steel. In addition, 440C stainless steel plate can also be used to manufacture high-quality knives, such as medical scalpels, scissors, nozzles, etc. There are three commonly used models: 440A, 440B, 440C, and 440F (easy to process)

Features of AISI 440C stainless steel plate
440C stainless steel has high hardness and excellent wear resistance, and is suitable for grinding. However, during the grinding process, its disadvantage is that it has greater viscosity and heats up quickly. Compared with carbon steel, 440C stainless steel is easier to grind and easier to cut with a hand saw. Its annealing temperature is low, and its hardness can usually reach HRC56-58, with strong corrosion resistance and toughness. Therefore, 440C stainless steel is now widely used in hand-made knives and high-quality factory-made knives.

440C Stainless Steel Plate - High-Performance Knife Steel
440C stainless steel is a high-carbon stainless steel with a carbon content of up to 1.2%. It is widely used in the high-end knife market for its excellent rust resistance and excellent strength and sharpness. Compared with ATS-34, 440C stainless steel has more advantages in strength and sharpness. It contains 16-18% chromium and is the second largest mainstream stainless steel material after ATS-34. It is also one of the earliest high-quality stainless steels accepted by knife makers and is still popular today.
