AISI 316 stainless steel is a high-performance stainless steel material derived from 18-8 austenitic stainless steel (304), with 2%-3% molybdenum (Mo) added. The main features of 316 stainless steel are excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and high-temperature strength. It is widely used in harsh environments that require corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability. AISI 316 stainless steel is commonly used in petroleum, boiler pipelines, marine structures, food, chemical industry, aerospace, and other fields. Compared with 304L stainless steel, 316 is more expensive.
