AISI 316 stainless steel bar is a high-quality austenitic stainless steel known for its excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and superior mechanical properties. Classified under the American standard, it corresponds to the national standard 0Cr17Ni12Mo2, offering better performance than 304 stainless steel. The addition of 2-3% molybdenum enhances its resistance to pitting corrosion, making it ideal for use in marine environments and various aggressive media. This stainless steel grade exhibits excellent resistance to creep and high-temperature strength. The cold-rolled surface provides a smooth and glossy finish, ensuring an attractive appearance. Compared to 304 stainless steel, AISI 316 offers significantly improved corrosion resistance, especially against chloride-induced pitting, making it a preferred choice for applications requiring durability in harsh conditions. It also features excellent work hardening properties, resulting in slight magnetic properties after processing, while remaining non-magnetic in its solid solution state. Due to its outstanding performance, AISI 316 stainless steel bars are widely used in pipelines, heat exchangers, the food industry, and chemical processing industries.
AISI 316 stainless steel bar has excellent corrosion resistance and heat resistance, and excellent high temperature strength. Mo element is added, which is particularly resistant to pitting corrosion and is suitable for pipelines, heat exchangers, food and chemical industries. It has high gloss, good work hardening, and is non-magnetic, making it suitable for making tableware, boilers, medical instruments and other products. The price is relatively high, but the performance is excellent. It is a versatile stainless steel material.
